The forum on single-use plastic will bring together business, science and decision makers

Consumer trends and the problem of single-use plastic pollution are strongly linked and cause growing concern. In response to the challenging environmental situation, regulatory mechanisms are becoming more strict. The EU directive on the reduction of the environmental impact of certain plastic products entered into force on 3 July 2021 – political will dictates the urgent need to move towards sustainable solutions.

Are the coastal municipalities and business successfully responding the new requirements?

What alternatives are being applied in order to reduce the amounts of single-use plastic?
How does organization's policy regarding the (non)use of single-use plastic affects the selection process of partners/ contractors?
How can cross-sectoral collaboration can help overcome emerging difficulties?

The forum “Single-use plastic in Lithuanian and Latvian coastal areas: challenges and solutions” will search for answers on December 3rd!
